To Acquire Spiritual Guidance by Elder Richard G. Scott
i love the guidelines for helping us to live a life where the Spirit can be more influential. this made me realize the importance of taking responsibility for my own opportunities to learn from the Spirit. i believe that the Holy Ghost can be present in our lives as we strive to align our will with the Lord's.
Blessings of the Temple by Elder Robert D. Hales
i especially love the list of five things successful couples do. this is something i have read over and over to try to remind myself of my responsibility in my marriage.
Finding Joy in the Journey by President Thomas S. Monson
i keep this talk in my scriptures because i think this is something i need to remember often. i tend to look forward to the exciting things ahead of me in life and i forget to enjoy where i am now.
Come What May and Love It by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
this is something that helps me to be happy. i remember sitting in church when i was 12 and my leader told us that her life didn't turn out how she'd expected. all the other leaders laughed and some said their's hadn't either. i was surprised and thought, "well mine will." ha ha
now i understand what they meant. my life is nothing like i expected, but you know, i love it.
Enriching Marriage by Elder Dean L. Larsen
in some ways it seems as if we have been married forever but in other ways our marriage still seems very new. i have found that it's helpful for me to read articles with advice on building a strong marriage because i am constantly made aware of faults that i have which need to change. i love working with jordan to change these things and improve our marriage.
Just the Two of Us For Now by Sister Ardeth G. Kapp
reading this talk just connected with me. though her trial will not relate to each of us, i feel like her approach to dealing, learning from, and eventually overcoming the trial of being childless is one that i can definitely learn from. i plan to read and re-read this article every so often to be reminded.
Why Complain? by Ashley Sullenger
after reading this i feel empowered because we all endure trials, they are not foreign to any of us. i am very grateful when people share what they have gone through because it helps me strive to be better.
Temple Worship: The Source of Strength and Power in Times of Need by Elder Richard G. Scott
this article taught me why we have temples on the earth and why it is important for members to return to the temple again and again to serve. elder scott also taught about true happiness in our lives and said, " We should never complain, when we are living worthily, about what happens in our lives."
The Merciful Obtain Mercy by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
this talk hit me when i heard it in conference and each time i read or hear it i am struck by the importance of this message. i love how near the end he says that heaven consists of people who have two things in common: they have been forgiven and they have been forgiving. this is a beautiful message.
Living The Abundant Life by President Thomas S. Monson
geri mentioned this talk and it has become my goal for life. i love president monson's optimism and i think this is a very realistic goal for anyone.
